Sound and visual specialists ASWARM in partnership with The United Friends & Families Campaign (UFFC) worked with Alpha Apps to create a series of AR statues that will be accessible via a QR code installed on the ground of Canterbury Square.
Harnessing AR technology’s innovative approach to image making and storytelling, Holding the Flame places Marcia Rigg in front of Brixton Police Station, a space she has occupied for over 10 years in exuberant defiance. At a time when the authority of statues and the spaces they occupy are being challenged, it envisions future possibilities of representation.
